Peach Moscow Mule
One of my favorite things to do in the summertime is hang out by the pool with my kids! It’s pretty much the best way to beat the heat here in Florida. When the sun is beating down like crazy, it’s great to just slather on some sunscreen and relax by the water. And while the kids are sipping on cold juice boxes, I like to sip on peach Moscow mules!
What makes these drinks so tantalizing is the homemade peach simple syrup. Sure, you can go buy a peach flavored syrup somewhere, but I promise it won’t be as fresh and delicious as this homemade one! The store-bought fruity simple syrups are chockfull of artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and loads of other junk. You can taste the freshness with this syrup that only has real peaches, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar and water.
I’ve concocted the rest of the drink to be just the right levels of booze and bubbles to make every sip perfectly balanced. I hate when I order a mule and it’s way too strong to even enjoy, but on the other hand, I hate when it’s mostly just ginger beer! This recipe has the best amount of alcohol, ginger beer, and fresh peach flavor. It’s incredibly delicious and easy to make, which means only one thing – it’ll be nearly impossible to just have one!
Ingredients
For the simple syrup, you’ll need:
Peaches – Make sure your peaches are fresh, peeled, pitted, and diced.
Lemon Juice – Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor.
Sugar – Just plain white granulated sugar is all you need.
Water – It needs to be boiling.
The rest of the mule calls for:
Ginger Beer – This is the base of the drink that makes is so deliciously bubbly and refreshing!
Peach Simple Syrup – You can use more or less of your homemade concoction, depending on how sweet you like your drink.
Vodka – Remember, your drink will only be as tasty as the liquor you use, so steer clear of the bottom shelf!
Peach Schnapps – This is my little secret ingredient that both enhances the peach flavor AND the alcohol content.
Lime – Fresh lime juice is the way to go.
Ice – Feeling fancy? Use frozen peach juice instead.
Peach Slices – These make for the tastiest garnishes, especially if you allow them to soak in the drink.
Mint – I love garnishing drinks with mint, because it makes every sip a little aromatic experience.
How to Make a Peach Moscow Mule
This fruity co*cktail comes together in no time!
Boil. First things first – you’ll want to make the peach simple syrup! Start by combining all of the ingredients and brining them to a boil in a medium saucepan. Boil everything for about 3 minutes, then remove from the heat and cover the pot to let the syrup seep for about half an hour.
Strain. Strain the syrup into a glass container with a lid and let it cool completely. Discard the peaches.
Store or use. You can store the syrup for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator, or use it right away!
Time To Make The Moscow Mule!
Pour. Measure all of the ingredients, then pour them into a copper mug or your favorite glassware of choice.
Stir. Use a spoon to gently stir the mixture, and top with ice. Be careful not to stir too quickly, or you may make the ginger beer go flat!
Enjoy! Garnish with a sprig of mint and peach slices, if desired. Serve immediately, and enjoy!
You can make the peach syrup up to a week ahead of time. Then, you can make each co*cktail fresh to order OR you can make an entire pitcher if you prefer!
To make a pitcher, you follow the same steps, but make a much larger quantity in a large pitcher. Pour into glasses and toast with your guests!
Moscow Mules To Go
If you want to make this co*cktail to take on the go to a party, I would recommend preparing the syrup ahead and bringing it with you already prepared. Then the rest comes together very quickly!

A Moscow mule is typically made with vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer. This old fashioned Moscow mule recipe is a riff on two co*cktails – the Moscow mule and the old fashioned co*cktail. Therefore, instead of vodka, this co*cktail uses whiskey! It also adds bitters to the mix, giving an added depth of flavor.
Fill mugs with ice. In each mug, pour in 2 oz vodka, 3 oz ginger beer and Pinkglow® juice to taste. Squeeze lime wedge and stir. Add a garnish of Pinkglow® and a lime wedge to each co*cktail (optional as garnish)
Comparing the two, the Moscow Mule leans towards a spicy and bold taste, perfect for those who enjoy a zesty kick in their drinks. The Mojito, with its sweet, citrusy, and minty notes, caters to those who prefer a more refreshing and light co*cktail.
Just like the above-mentioned drinks, a Moscow Mule is best enjoyed when served in a cold copper mug. A traditional copper mug heightens all individual flavors, raises the aroma, and gives a distinctive look to the Moscow Mule co*cktail.
The main difference is the liquor. Moscow Mules are vodka-based, while a Kentucky Mule follows the same recipe, except bourbon is used in place of vodka. As with any mule, the resulting co*cktail is fresh, bright, and flavorful. And it's easy to drink.
Fill a copper mule glass with ice. Pour whiskey, ginger syrup and lime juice in shaker and shake. Strain into glass and top up with ginger beer. Add a flourish of green with a lime wedge.
A Tennessee Mule is a co*cktail made with Tennessee whiskey, lime juice and ginger beer. It's delightfully refreshing, with a nice zing from the ginger and a bright zest from the limes, all to balance out that bit of whiskey.
Fill a shaker with ice and add Jameson, ginger syrup, and lime juice. Shake until cold (about 10-15 seconds). Strain into a mule mug filled with ice. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
And bar proprietors are changing the names of their co*cktails to make it clear what side they're on: In many places, the Moscow Mule is now the Kyiv Mule. In at least one bar, it's the Snake Island Mule, a reference to the Ukrainian territory where border guards made a defiant last stand against invading troops.
However, most experts agree that drinking Moscow Mules out of unlined copper mugs will not cause any negative health effects. For one thing, you'd need to leave your co*cktail sitting around for many, many hours before the drink would become dangerous.
Moscow mule purists know that tradition isn't the only reason the drink is served in a copper mug: The cold metal insulates the temperature of the chilled ginger beer, keeping the co*cktail cool and refreshing. Some experts say that the mug enhances the individual flavors of the ginger beer, vodka, and lime.
Whether Morgan and Martin realized it or not, the copper mugs were the perfect glass for a mule. Copper is very good at conducting temperature, so when an ice cold mule is poured inside, the glass actually takes on that temperature and keeps the drink frosty cold longer.
A great Moscow mule combines smooth vodka with ice-cold, spicy ginger beer and lime – in a signature copper mug. Ginger beer doesn't taste the same without the copper mug, which highlights the sweet-and-spicy taste of the beverage.
Mule: The result of a donkey stallion mating with a female horse. Mules tend to have the head of a donkey and the extremities of a horse. Hinny: The result of a horse stallion mating with a female donkey. Hinnies are less common than mules and there might be subtle differences in appearance.
The Mexican Mule trades the vodka usually found in the Moscow Mule for tequila, and the result is spicy, sour, and delicious. Fill copper mugs with ice, top with tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, and stir for a five-star concoction that's perfect for sipping on a hot day.
In a drink shaker, combine vodka, lime juice, lemon juice, and syrup with ice and shake vigorously. 2. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with rosemary sprig.
